Location:Â South Wales (Nationwide Travel & Overnight Stays Required)
Salary: £25K-£32K (depending on experience)
The Opportunity:
A growing and highly respected provider of integrated fire and security solutions is seeking a Security Installation Mate to assist senior engineers on national installation projects. The Role:
As a Security Installation Mate, you will support engineers with the installation, setup, and commissioning of security systems across commercial and industrial sites throughout the UK. The position involves assisting with cable pulling, equipment mounting, testing, and troubleshooting under the supervision of senior team members. Due to the nature of the projects, a flexible approach to travel and staying away from home is essential.
Key Duties:
- Assist in the installation of access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems
- Pull cables, mount devices, and help prepare systems for commissioning
- Work alongside engineers to ensure installations meet company and industry standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
- Accurately record installation progress and support documentation requirements
- Follow all health and safety protocols on-site
Person Specification:
- Some prior experience in electrical, security, or cabling installations is preferred
- Willingness to learn and progress within the fire and security industry
- ECS/CSCS card beneficial (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on tasks
- Full UK driving licence advantageous
- Must be flexible with travel and overnight stays when required
