Payments Business Test Analyst - Contract Opportunity

Job Description:

A large financial organisation is seeking a diligent Business Test Analyst to support the development of business test strategies and test plans. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality testing outcomes that align with business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and support the development of business test strategies and test plans across multiple markets.
  • Demonstrate strong capabilities in functional and business acceptance testing while collaborating effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements and operational workflows into test scenarios and relevant test cases.
  • Define, document, and maintain business test scenarios and test cases in collaboration with business stakeholders, analysts, and product teams.
  • Execute business testing scenarios to ensure compliance with business requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct defect triage meetings with relevant stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved prior to sign-off.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams to communicate requirements and provide support during testing phases.
  • Provide tailored test completion reports at the conclusion of testing phases.
  • Participate in various stages of testing, including user acceptance, client, and production testing.
  • Maintain composure under pressure, meeting deadlines and managing communication in challenging situations.
  • Support automation testing initiatives when required.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Test Analyst with expertise in payment systems and messaging standards.
  • Strong understanding of user acceptance testing (UAT) processes and methodologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • ISTQB/ISEB certification in software testing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing within the financial services or payments industry, including at least 2 years in business/UAT testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of cross-border payment systems and standards such as SWIFT MT/MX, FPS, CHAPS, SEPA, ACH, and real-time payment schemes.
  • Experience testing REST and SOAP APIs using tools like Postman.
  • Proficiency in working with JSON and XML formats.
