This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, sustainability, and teamwork. Your new roleAs a Financial Accountant, your key responsibilities will encompass providing precise and timely financial information and costings. You will collaborate closely with the Financial Controller and budget holders on a monthly basis to reduce and monitor costs, as well as explain any variations to budgets. Additionally, you will work with the Finance team to ensure accurate reporting and timely delivery of financial information, including the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Your role will also involve the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, conducting analysis and implementing controls. Furthermore, you will support and work alongside colleagues in the finance team on various ad hoc reports and analysis.Typical duties will include:

  • Reviewing monthly costs with the Financial Controller and budget holders and commentary on variances
  • Control all prepayment and accrual accounts
  • Reconciliation of supplier rebates accounts agreeing numbers with the Financial Controller and Group sourcing
  • Reconciliation of BS accounts
  • Ensuring accounts are reconciled, filed and signed on a monthly basis
  • Reconciling and posting of monthly payroll journals
  • Preparing quarterly analysis of all leases on site together with details on future liabilities
  • Improvement and development of current processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of procedures
  • Ad hoc support as required for the Financial Controller, supporting queries and analysis and working with colleagues in the finance department and wider team
