The Accounts Assistant FTC position requires a capable candidate with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of financial procedures. This role is based in Wigton and is integral to the smooth operation of the Accounting & Finance department within an industrial / manufacturing setting.

Description
The Accounts Assistant role is initially a 9 month contract and will be Hybrid working- 3 days per week in Carlisle office/2 remote. Reporting to the Financial Controller Key responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of Accounts Payable
- Ownership of purchase ledger for the manufacturing plant
- Processing, bank payments, set up on new vendors, maintenance of vendor data etc
- Timely reconciliation of banks
- Completion of Weekly reports including sales and treasury
- Processing of expense reports
- Preparation of VAT return
- Preparation of PAYE settlement agreement
- Preparation of corporation tax schedules
- Collation and preparation of journals, general ledger reconciliation and assisting with month end accounting procedures
- Ensuring compliance with controls and preparation of controls reporting to Group
- Liaising with other group entities for confirmation of intercompany balances for monthly group reporting
- Support periodical stock take
- Assist in the development of improved management information systems procedures and reports
- Assist with internal and external audits and liaise with auditors as required
Profile
In order to apply for the role you should:
- Have previous experience in Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger
- Ideally have experience in a similar Accounts Assistant role
- Be able to commute 3 days per week to Carlisle office in Cumbria
- Be ale to consider a 9 Month contract initially
