Adecco is delighted to be recruiting exclusively for our valued client, who is seeking a Stores Operative to join their team in Carlisle.

Working Hours:Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pmFriday: 7:30am - 3:00pm

Contracted Hours: 39 per weekHoliday Entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidaysSalary: £25,625 - £28,500 per annum, dependent on experience

Role Overview

This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the stores, and the efficient management and delivery of materials and plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control of stock, plant, and consumables
  • Basic maintenance and minor repairs of equipment
  • Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
  • Face fit testing
  • Ordering and issuing equipment and supplies
  • Managing vehicle records, including servicing
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment across stores and yards
  • Assisting with the off-site spray-painting facility when required

Main Duties

  • General maintenance of equipment, either directly or via contractors, including maintaining records
  • PAT testing of electrical equipment
  • Issuing equipment and supplies to staff
  • Inspecting and servicing returned items
  • Managing a small number of plant items
  • Conducting stock takes
  • Responsible disposal of waste
  • Occasional delivery of equipment to sites
  • Promoting and upholding high standards of health and safety
  • Performing additional duties as required, appropriate to the position

Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence - essential
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence - preferred (training can be provided if required)
