We are seeking an ICT Programme Assistant to join its team. This role is part of the ICT Programme Management Office, which is responsible for managing and delivering a large portfolio of ICT projects. The ICT Service provides support to both Cumberland and Westmorland & Furness Councils.

Purpose of the Post:The primary purpose of this role is to support and contribute to the coordination, management, and delivery of the overall ICT project portfolio. This includes, where appropriate, taking on the management of specific projects or elements of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery and management of the ICT project portfolio under the direction of the ICT Programme Manager.

  • Facilitating programme and project support, including maintaining accurate project performance and management information.

  • Contributing to the scheduling of programme/project delivery and departmental resources.

  • Providing administrative support across the programme, which includes data analysis, resource scheduling, and reporting.

  • Maintaining and contributing to the development of Programme Management Office functions and tools.

Essential Criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience of project or programme management techniques and methodologies.

  • NVQ3 in Business Administration/Project Management or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in a change management environment and knowledge of local government procedures and procurement processes.

  • Experience working with various customers and developing schedules, plans, and reports to support project delivery.

  • Proficiency in ICT packages, including MS Office, with knowledge of ServiceNow being advantageous.

  • Ability to work systematically, prioritise tasks, problem-solve creatively, and work well within a team.

  • A solution-focused approach with the ability to use your own initiative to resolve challenges.
