A forward-thinking healthcare organisation with a strong presence in Carlisle and West Cumbria is seeking an experienced Interim Patient Support Officer to support their Customer service team during a critical period of growth and transformation.

Your new role

  • Contact patients, carers and/or the complainant directly in the first instance to ensure patient safety and provide support with the complaints management process to help resolve their concerns.
  • Promote patient safety by ensuring every complaint and concern is logged and reviewed for clinical issues with any potential safety issues are raised in a timely manager to the Practice Teams and Clinical Quality Manager.
  • Complete complaint investigations with Practice Team members and provide a thorough response to resolve complaints and prevent returned complaints.
  • Write response letters which are accurate, person-centred and include useful contextual information about the organisation's approach to patient centred care.

What you'll need to succeed

  • The ability to work confidentially with sensitivity and empathy.
  • You must be a confident communicator to navigate complex queries.
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
