Adult Social worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Adult Social Worker to join our dedicated Safeguarding Team. This vital role requires a strong commitment to protecting vulnerable adults from abuse and neglect. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with various agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of adults at risk.Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding Adults: Conduct thorough assessments of adults at risk of abuse or neglect, identifying needs and risks, and developing and implementing effective protection plans.
  • Section 42 Enquiries: Undertake Section 42 enquiries, assessing the circumstances of vulnerable adults and working to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Work effectively with a range of professionals, including police, health professionals, family members, and other support services, to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload of adults at risk, ensuring timely and effective service delivery, meeting deadlines and targets.
  • Care Planning: Develop person-centred care plans that meet the individual needs of each adult, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and manage potential risks to adults at risk.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of vulnerable adults, ensuring their voices are heard and their wishes are respected.
  • Court Work: May be required to prepare and present cases in court, providing expert testimony and advocating for adult's best interests.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contacts and interventions.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Social Work Degree (DipSW or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience: Post-qualifying experience in adult social work, ideally within a safeguarding or similar setting.
  • Skills: Excellent assessment, planning, and intervention skills; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a challenging caseload; strong report writing skills.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to adult safeguarding, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
