Carlisle

Our client, a well established Truck dealer, is seeking for a HGV Technician to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks. Fault finding, and carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.

Role: HGV Technician

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum

Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm, Mon to Fri + 1 in 3 Saturdays

Location: Carlisle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures, safely and responsibly
  • Ensure repairs are carried out in accordance with Standard Times
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process
  • Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and warranty material on completion of each repair
  • Work with the Parts Team to ensure the correct replacement parts are fitted
  • Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV licence)
  • Ensure company time recording procedures are complied with, and that job cards are completed accurately

Requirements:

  • City and Guilds /level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance
  • experience working on commercial vehicles
  • IT literate
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience as a HGV Technician/HGV Mechanic/PSV Mechanic
  • LGV C + E licence beneficial not essential. HGV/PSV licence an advantage
