Senior Finance Assistant | Carnforth | Up to £45k | Purpose-Driven Luxury Business

Are you a diligent and proactive finance professional looking to join a purpose-led, design-driven company? This is a rare opportunity to support the financial heartbeat of a small but ambitious creative studio redefining luxury through sustainability and craftsmanship.

The Role

As the studio continues to grow, we're seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to provide essential day-to-day financial support. Reporting directly to the COO, you will play a key role in managing core finance operations-from bookkeeping and reconciliations to assisting with management accounts and payroll.

The environment is creative, passionate, and sometimes fast-paced. You'll need to be adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident working independently while collaborating across departments to promote financial awareness.

This is an office-based role, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily bookkeeping, including transaction categorisation and bank reconciliations

  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

  • Assist with monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

  • Support cashflow forecasting and reporting

  • Process payroll and maintain related records

  • Prepare VAT returns in collaboration with external accountants

  • Assist with year-end accounts and tax return preparation

  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements and performance reviews

  • Work with both GBP and EUR across multi-currency projects

What We're Looking For (Essential)
  • At least 5 years' experience in finance or bookkeeping

  • Strong practical experience with management accounts support and cashflow reporting

  • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks (or equivalent)

  • Comfortable working with multi-currency accounts (GBP and EUR)

  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work alongside both creative and operational teams

  • £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)
