Group Financial Accountant - Non-Profit Organisation | £45,000 | Castleford Area

We're working with a respected non-profit organisation based in the Castleford area to recruit a Group Financial Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to use their financial expertise to support a meaningful cause and give back to society.

About the Role:

As Group Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in delivering all financial reporting and statutory accounts for the charity and its subsidiaries. Reporting to the Group Head of Finance, you'll also manage and develop two assistant accountants and help drive improvements across financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Lead on consolidated financial statements and statutory accounts
  • Oversee VAT returns and provide internal VAT expertise
  • Support the annual audit and year-end process
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with charity and company law
  • Mentor and develop two assistant accountants
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and reporting

About You:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with 3+ years PQE
  • Strong technical background and experience managing a team
  • Excellent communication and Excel skills
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Previous experience in a charity or social care setting is highly desirable
  • Passionate about working for a cause-driven organisation
