We are seeking a dedicated Administrator to join our Children & Young People’s (C&YP) Directorate. This role is crucial in providing high-quality business and administrative support to our team, ensuring efficient operation and service delivery to the community.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide comprehensive administration and business support services to staff and customers, including bulk data input, typing, diary management, photocopying, and producing correspondence.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the team, handling routine enquiries and requests for information from colleagues, partners, clients, and the public, in line with the Council's Customer Care policy.
  • Maintain effective communication systems, ensuring accurate message relay and information exchange with all levels of colleagues, partners, and the public.
  • Demonstrate respect and commitment to providing an effective service to customers, identifying their needs and striving to meet them.
  • Assist in the administration of financial tasks under the guidance of the line manager, including ordering goods and services, processing invoices for payment, and managing petty cash in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in a similar administrative function, preferably within a local government or confidential environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver services that meet the needs of internal and external customers within tight deadlines.
  • Experience in minute-taking.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently, manage own workload, and complete tasks within tight deadlines.
