The Recruitment Group are proudly working with an established company looking to grow their maintenance team due growth within the business. As a maintenance engineer/technician you will be responsible for maintaining company specific machinery. You will be responsible for problem solving, continuous improvement and preventative maintenance schedules.
Maintenance Technician/ WF10/ Engineering/ Permanent
Pay & Hours:
- £40-44K DOE to rise after probation period
- 4 on 4 off, 7:00 – 19:00, rotating days and nights
- External training programs available to employees
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure efficient and safe running of equipment, limiting unplanned downtime is the core responsibility of this role.
- Be accountable and responsible for the condition and reliability of the production equipment, this includes the equipment performing its function in a safe manner (all guards in place etc)
- The ability to identify potential issues before they happen and have the skills to rectify/avoid unplanned stoppages.
- Making short term fixes where necessary and then planning in the long term fix.
- High quality of work, testing and checking after work is completed to avoid repeated returns to the same issue.
- Be able to work with a minimum of supervision, having the skills and fault-finding ability to rectify issues as required with robust and safe solutions.
- Has the skills and foresight to see continuous improvement opportunities within the process
- Record and monitor quality process parameters, required levels are clearly defined (TF024), the monitoring and reporting of these parameters and any issues are paramount to our quality commitments
- Carry out preventative maintenance correctly, to schedule and maintain records accordingly
- Work with all of the maintenance team, passing over all information of any issues to the other shifts
- Work with the machine minder (where applicable), making sure there is good communication to support the efficient running of the process
Essential Qualifications:
- Electrical training (for example C&G, NVQ level 3, ONC) that covers machine based control (sensors, fault finding etc)
and/or
- Mechanical training (C&G, NVQ level 3, ONC etc) on items such as bearings, shaft fitting/alignment, component assembly
- Safety (IOSH or equivalent)
- HACCP Level 2
Desirable Qualification:
- Apprentice Trained
- Engineering Degree/Electrical or mechanical HNC
- NEBOSH
- HACCP level 3
- Fabrication and Welding
