Transport PlannerCastleford£35,000 - £37,000 + Benefits

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for logistics and a knack for optimising transport operations? A leading business in Castleford is seeking a Transport Planner to join their experienced Transport team following a contract win. The role is Sunday to Thursday, 8am - 5pm, with requirement to deal with ad-hoc issues outside of hours when needed.

This is a key role responsible for planning and enhancing the performance of a nationwide network, ensuring maximum fleet efficiency and compliance with transport regulations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Plan daily routing and resource allocation
  • Maximise efficiency across both in-house fleet and utilisation of sub-contractor partners
  • Maximise fleet utilisation and reduce delivery costs
  • Communicate with suppliers, drivers and customers to provide updates and solutions
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety, driver hours, and transport legislation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party transport providers

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of UK road network and national transport planning
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable speaking with various stakeholders
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Calm, logical thinker with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence required
