We are seeking a dedicated Administrator to provide effective and high-quality business and administration support services to Wakefield Council. This role supports the operational services provided by the Children & Young People’s (C&YP) Directorate, ensuring efficient management and coordination within various service areas.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide administrative support to managers and staff within the C&YP Directorate.
  • Operate a mobile and flexible work pattern, adapting to various locations as required.
  • Manage data entry, document processing, and office management tasks with precision and efficiency.
  • Support the coordination of meetings, including scheduling, minute-taking, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and information security standards.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and respect.
  • Assist in the implementation and adherence to the Council’s policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of business administration systems and procedures.
  • Experience in a similar administrative role, preferably within a local government or confidential environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workload effectively under tight deadlines.
