Milk Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work at a Primary School based in Castleford Starting from June, carrying over into the next academic year from September. The most important attribute of a prospective candidate is the willingness to get involved and be proactive. This will be full time hours, Monday-Friday, in between the hours of 8.30am-3.30pm. The ideal person for the role will need to be really flexible as it may be a combined role, such as working with different age groups, as a general teaching assistant but also with 1:1. The role will involve support with children with challenging behaviours and SEND needs, so ideally experience with this, will be ideal.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake all activities as required during their time at the school and be able to work as part of a team as well as being able to use initiative.
If successful, you will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to support access to learning and provide 1:1 support and support throughout the classroom.
What you will need to apply
- To be able to display excellent verbal communication as well as the ability to actively listen
- The ability to work both as part of a team as well as independently
- To be able to follow and adhere to school policies and procedures in regards to child protection and data protection based on each school-specific policy.
- Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3), above, or similar
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the update service, or are willing to apply for one through Milk Education
- Have two suitable references with professional emails
