Job Title: Despatch Supervisor
Location: Castleford, WF10
Salary: 14 per hour
Shifts: 4 on 4 off / 6am to 6pm
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Despatch Supervisor to join our team in a fast-paced productionenvironment. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of FLT and PPT drivers across both the bays and wash operation. This role demands strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills, ensuring all activities within your control are performed to the highest operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage FLT and PPT drivers during your shift, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Plan and execute shift activities to meet site performance and quality targets.

Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies across your area of responsibility.

Drive a culture of safety, ensuring all employees, including new starters, adhere to health and safety protocols.

Motivate, train, and develop your team through consistent communication and support.

Implement and monitor company processes and procedures, ensuring accurate administrative completion including SAP updates and TRT reports.

Maintain stock integrity, ensuring items are correctly stored and paperwork is accurate.

Organise labour within your area, managing start/finish times and breaks

Liaise with customers when required, maintaining strong professional relationships.

Uphold high standards of housekeeping, ensuring cleanliness and timely completion of assigned tasks.

Ensure MHE pre-shift inspections are carried out and VOR procedures followed.

Report all accidents and near misses with detailed root cause analysis, escalating to the SHE team.
Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar supervisory or despatch role within a logistics or warehouse environment.

Strong understanding of health and safety legislation.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Proficient warehouse management systems.

Ability to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, including weekends.
