What You'll Be Doing:
- Support Students: Work closely with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a secondary school setting.
- Tailored Learning: Assist in delivering personalised educational plans designed to meet each student's unique needs.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with teachers to bring classroom activities and special projects to life.
- Encouragement: Foster social and academic growth by encouraging positive interactions and active participation in class.
- Well-being: Keep an eye on the well-being of students throughout the school day.
- Adaptability: Tailor your communication and engagement techniques to suit individual student needs.
- Feedback: Provide valuable feedback to teachers and parents on student progress and join in on meetings as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially in an SEN setting, is a big plus.
- Understanding: A good grasp of the challenges faced by students with ASD.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Qualities: Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
- Team Player: Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs are advantageous.
