About the role
As Caretaker at Akeley Wood, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school's buildings and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose. You'll support the day-to-day operations of the school across our campuses-carrying out maintenance tasks, managing contractors, and ensuring all compliance checks are completed on time. You'll also assist with setting up for events, transporting equipment, and handling deliveries. As a keyholder, you may be called upon out of hours for emergencies or access. This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same, and your contribution is essential to the smooth running of school life.

With strong problem-solving skills and experience in general maintenance or DIY, you're confident managing a range of repair tasks and liaising with contractors. You understand the importance of compliance and health and safety, and can use basic IT systems to manage tasks and log issues.
