Ultimate Banking are delighted to be working with the Buckinghamshire Building Society; a community, member centred building society, striving to provide a first-class customer experienced. Offering a wide range of mortgages and savings to the market, the Buckinghamshire Building Society pride themselves with their collaborative work with partners and charities.

Working within the Finance team, this challenging and varied role will be responsible for the preparation of the Society’s financial plans and managing the monthly and quarterly accounting close process.

Duties of the Financial Controller will include:

  • Managing the monthly and quarterly accounting close process, ensuring that all transactions are accurately accounted for, and accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Managing the financial year-end including the preparation of statutory accounts and external audit.
  • The preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management information, and regulatory returns.
  • The preparation of the Society’s financial plans and stress tests, including budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintaining and managing updates to Finance Information Systems.
  • Supporting the Society’s Finance Transformation programme.
  • Line management and on-going professional development of 3 members of the Finance team.

The successful individual will possess/be:

  • A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
  • Previous experience in accounting, within Financial Services
  • Leadership/supervisory experience would be highly desirable
