A small, well-established construction business based in Little Chalfont is seeking an experienced and organised Bookkeeper to join its close-knit team. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys ownership of the day-to-day finance function in a supportive and stable working environment.Due to the rural office location, access to your own transport is essential.Main Responsibilities
  • Processing purchase ledger invoices
  • Managing and resolving any supplier invoice queries
  • Sending regular reports to site teams and across departments
  • Accurately coding and costing invoices to the correct nominal accounts
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Preparing and coordinating weekly/monthly payment runs
  • Assisting with posting payroll journals
  • Consolidating cash book entries
  • Preparing for and assisting with financial audits
  • Managing employee expenses
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements
What We're Looking For
  • Strong bookkeeping experience, ideally in a small business or construction environment
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, and payment processes
  • Familiarity with Red Sky accounting software is highly desirable (training can be provided if needed)
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
