Pyrotechnic Assembly Operative

We're recruiting an Assembly Operative for a globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Chalgrove. You'll be assembling pyrotechnic components including cartridges and rocket motors for aviation safety systems - precision work with explosive materials in a highly regulated environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Assembling pyrotechnic components to engineering drawings and work instructions
- Using weighing equipment and specialist tooling to achieve precise tolerances
- Handling explosive materials safely in accordance with strict procedures
- Interpreting assembly drawings, identifying part numbers, drawing issues, and batch identification
- Maintaining and monitoring tools and equipment for fitness for purpose
- Updating SAP to record work in progress accurately
- Ensuring all work meets quality standards and H&S regulations including explosives compliance
- Contributing to housekeeping and maintaining a safe, clean working environment
What you need:
- Basic production or manufacturing experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (training provided)
- Understanding of H&S policies and procedures
- Attention to detail and ability to work to precise tolerances
- Basic PC and SAP skills
- Team player who can work independently
- Self-starter with good communication skills
- GCSE grades D-G (or equivalent)
- Experience with explosives or pyrotechnic assembly is ideal, but full training will be provided to the right person with a solid manufacturing background.
