The Candlelight Inn has entered an exciting new chapter after being acquired by the team behind the award winningCotley Inn. As we open our second pub, were looking for anambitious Sous Chefto play a key role in shaping our kitchen and food offering.

This is a hands-on role withreal creative input. Youll work closely with the Head Chef, contribute seasonal dishes and specials that genuinely make it onto the menu, and help lead a positive, well-run kitchen.

What youll do

  • Act as the Head Chefs right hand, helping to lead services and set the standard in the kitchen.
  • Play an active role inmenu development, contributing seasonal dishes, specials, and ideas that are tested, developed, and put on the menu.
  • Championseasonal, local produce, celebrating Somerset and the South Wests best ingredients.
  • Lead, support, and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a calm, respectful, and positive working environment.
  • Take ownership of food preparation, presentation, and consistency across every service.
  • Maintain excellent standards around food safety, hygiene, sustainability, and waste reduction.
  • Support stock control and ordering to ensure smooth, well-organised services.
  • Mentor and develop team members, helping others grow while continuing to develop yourself.
