Opportunity for an Accounts Senior to join a well-established accountancy practice at its Chatham office. The role will involve delivering high quality accountancy and tax services to clients, on time and within budget.

As Accounts Senior your responsibilities will include:

  • Controlling a portfolio of clients comprising individuals and owner managed businesses and act as a key point of contact for nominated clients and for any offshoring resource
  • Preparation of accounts for companies, partnerships, LLPs and sole traders
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns and computations, partnership tax returns and adjusted profit computations, personal tax returns and computations, and review of VAT returns
  • Arrange & lead accounts planning meetings
  • Ensure completion of processing for clients in other managers/senior manager/director portfolios
  • Monitor work progress and ensure appropriate levels of communication with all clients
  • Complete administration on client files and set up relevant file reviews for Manager review
  • Supervision of semi seniors & assistants and where agreed, review the work of assistants
  • Assist other members of the service line as required
  • Attend client meetings, and review, and close down meetings for others’ clients as required
  • Supervise semi seniors & assistants who are involved in production and delivery of work
  • Provide feedback to all team members involved in specific work
  • Support the team in delivering the required departmental incremental fee target via networking, meeting attendance, business pitches & presenting at webinars

  • Extensive accounting experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
  • Knowledge of ISA and UK GAAP essential
  • Experience with corporation tax, partnership tax, personal tax and VAT would be beneficial

  • Good general IT skills and solid accounting software knowledge
