?? Job Opportunity: Assessment Officer (EHC Coordinator) – Medway Council Join the Education and SEND Division at Medway Council as an Assessment Officer (EHC Coordinator). You'll play a vital role in coordinating Education, Health, and Care (EHC) assessments and drafting outcome-focused, high-quality EHC Plans that support children and young people across the region.?? Directorate: People: Children and Adults�? Division: Education and SEND?? Grade: MPR 4?? Reports to: Assessment Hub LeadThe salary range for this perm position is £31,283 - £37,181?? Main Responsibilities:
  • Draft and amend Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) in line with statutory frameworks (Children and Families Act, SEND Code of Practice)
  • Coordinate multi-agency input into EHC assessments
  • Ensure completion of EHC processes within the 20-week statutory timeframe
  • Provide technical advice and support to parents and carers throughout the EHCP process
  • Maintain clear communication and accurate records of case progress and stakeholder interactions
  • Use the SEN database in line with Council protocols to manage and track cases
  • Support quality assurance of advice and plans
  • Liaise with professionals and services to identify needs and ensure child-focused outcomes
? Requirements:
  • Experience in SEND services or EHC planning
  • Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and data management skills
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload and work in a multi-agency environment
