ROLE: Quantity Surveyor – M&E
LOCATION: Medway, Kent
SALARY: Circa £55k - £65k DOE

THE JOB
This exciting Quantity Surveyor – M&E job will aid a growing business and will consist of a mixture of office and site-based work. You will be responsible for overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of our M&E projects. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and senior leadership to ensure financial control, cost certainty, and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Your duties will include:
- Lead and manage the commercial aspects of M&E projects from tender stage through to final account
- Prepare and review tender submissions, bills of quantities, and cost plans
- Negotiate and manage subcontracts, valuations, and variations
- Monitor project costs and cash flow, ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting
- Provide commercial insight and risk analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to maintain strong relationships
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, contract terms, and industry standards
- Produce and present monthly cost reports to senior management
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management role, ideally within the M&E or Fit-Out sector
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of M&E systems, construction contracts (JCT, NEC), and procurement practices
- Excellent numerical and commercial acumen
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Excel, estimating tools, project cost systems)
- Self-motivated and results-driven
- Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset
- Organised, with excellent attention to detail
