Experienced Social Worker - Children in Care - Medway Council

We're working with Medway Council to recruit an Experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care (CiC) Teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service focused on permanency, stability, and building meaningful relationships with looked after children.

About the Role:
You'll manage a caseload of looked after children, working within a supportive team using the Signs of Safety model. You'll undertake direct work with children and young people to understand their lived experiences, ensure plans remain relevant, and deliver high-quality life-story work. You'll attend reviews, permanency planning meetings, and manage care proceedings where necessary.

About You:

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

  • Completed ASYE and at least 2 years' post-qualified experience

  • Experience in statutory children's services, specifically with looked after children

  • Skilled in life-story work, permanency planning, and court work

  • Confident using strength-based and relationship-focused approaches

  • Strong report writing and assessment skills
