Your responsibilities

As our Bar and Restaurant Manager, you will play an integral role in training and managing your team to deliver exceptional levels of service with confidence. You will successfully host and coordinate the food and dining experience for our guests and your knowledge of our wine list will enhance the guest experience by offering unique and interesting options. You will be expected to deputise for the Hotel General Manager in his absence effectively maintaining the standards of service our guests expect.

As the restaurant leader, you will communicate and work closely with suppliers, as well as other relevant teams within the hotel, attending meetings and ensuring there is a fluid level of service throughout the restaurant.

Your experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate to take on this role will have a strong passion for food and you should be able to demonstrate great communication, organisation and leadership skills. Working closely with the Hotel General Manager, you will lead the daily operations of our restaurant within The Tempus hotel, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standard and service is delivered to our guests with confidence and flair.

It is essential that you have a friendly and flexible working style, good problem solving skills and the ability to keep calm under pressure. Excellent organisational and communication skills are extremely important as well as the ability to work as part of a team.

Main Duties-

  • Ensure excellent customer service by coaching staff on how to exceed guest expectations.
  • Maintain high standards of venue hygiene/cleanliness and keep cleaning records up to date (Compliance diaries and checklists etc).
  • Identify, support and deliver training needs, including menu knowledge.
  • Recruit, train and supervise your team.
  • Promote and market the business offering.
  • Oversee stock levels and order supplies.
  • Handle customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Take restaurant reservations.
  • Communicate effectively with the Hotel General Manager and heads of departments.
  • Deputise for the Hotel General Manager in his absence.
  • Greet and advise customers through extensive knowledge of all F&B menus and Group knowledge.
  • Prepare and present staffing/sales reports.
  • Assess and improve profitability.
  • Liaise with customers, employees, suppliers, licensing authorities and sales representatives.
  • Continuously evaluate and make improvements to the development and running of the restaurant.
  • Take responsibility for all finance issues such as transaction checks, line checks, balancing of tills, investigating variances, preparing rotas.
  • Work closely with the bar team with the ordering, rotation, storage and recording of all bar products.
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with the kitchen effectively.
  • Prepare and execute the entire menu including cocktails and bar snacks.
  • Support in the delivery of high standards of health and safety and guest satisfaction by ensuring a thorough process of opening and closing duties.
