Job title: Air Freight Coordinator

Location: Manchester, M22 5WB

Salary: 32,000 - 38,000 DOE

Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday (rotational early/late shifts possible with enhanced shift payment)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Air Freight Coordinator to join our client's operations team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for clients, ensuring their transportation requirements are met efficiently and cost-effectively. You will manage shipments from initial request through to final delivery, working closely with partners across the UK and Europe to provide seamless, door-to-door service.

Air Freight Coordinator Responsibilities

Client Interaction: Receive, manage, and fully understand client requests.
Delivery Analysis: Assess available delivery options and provide clear, costed recommendations based on efficiency and timing.
Costing & Scheduling: Accurately calculate delivery costs and timelines to meet client expectations.
Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, providing guidance throughout the process.
Transportation Arrangements: Organise approved transportation plans to meet agreed deadlines.
Collaboration: Work with partners worldwide and across European offices to coordinate and monitor shipments.
Tracking & Monitoring: Oversee door-to-door tracking of shipments to ensure timely delivery.
Problem-Solving: Proactively address issues or delays, minimizing disruptions with effective solutions.

Air Freight Coordinator Requirements

5+ years' experience in air transport services
Strong knowledge of industry best practices.
Communication skills for collaboration with shippers, and carriers.
Familiarity with diverse transport methods (e.g., dedicated aircraft, helicopter charters, on-board courier services) - an advantage but not essential.
Strong analytical and costing skills to assess transportation options.
Proactive, problem-solving, and customer-focused mindset.
