Location: Durham
Salary: Up to 55,000

We are recruiting for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join a well-established, fast-paced manufacturing site in Durham. This is a key position within the engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving electrical and control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production.



Key Responsibilities for Control System Engineer

  • Maintain and repair plant machinery and control systems to maximise uptime

  • Respond quickly and effectively to electrical and control system breakdowns, minimising downtime and improving OEE

  • Support the Maintenance Manager in delivering electrical maintenance strategies and planned preventative maintenance

  • Drive continuous improvement activities using lean tools and techniques

  • Ensure all plant and equipment comply with current electrical legislation and safety standards



Skills & Experience Required

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering

  • ONC, HNC, or equivalent qualification

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

  • Experience with Siemens PLCs, including S7 and TIA Portal

  • Strong fault-finding, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems and electric motors
