A client of ours in the Chelmsford area are recruiting a Bookkeeper to join their team immediately. This is a full-time temporary position working Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm, paying a negotiable salary, on a 3-month contract with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.
Your key duties in this Bookkeeper role will include but are not limited to:
- Managing purchase and sales ledgers with Xero accounting software.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and processing invoices.
- Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting month-end.
- Handling VAT returns and credit control.
- Manage accounts payable, including processing payments and reconciling statements.
- Conduct regular audits of financial data to ensure accuracy.
- Supporting the MD with general office and admin duties.
Skills and experience required to be considered for this role:
- Proven bookkeeping/accounts experience.
- Strong knowledge of purchase & sales ledgers.
- Experience with Xero accounting software.
- Good Excel and reporting skills.
- Understanding of a manufacturing environment (advantageous).
- Available immediately.
