CNC Miller - Day & Night Shifts Available | Chelmsford | Precision Engineering - Aerospace & Defence

Prime Appointments is working with a long-established and highly respected manufacturing company based in Chelmsford. Known for producing high-precision CNC-machined components for the aerospace and defence sectors, the business is expanding to meet rising demand. As part of this growth, they are seeking experienced CNC Millers to join their skilled team. Both day and night shift positions are available.

Role Summary:
This position involves programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision engineering and the ability to work with minimal supervision to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines

  • Read and interpret complex technical drawings and CAD blueprints

  • Select appropriate tooling and optimise setups for small batch and one-off production

  • Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure compliance with tight tolerances

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and address minor faults to minimise downtime

  • Collaborate with the wider production team to meet project timelines

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller in a precision engineering environment

  • Proficient with CNC controls including Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Siemens

  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining best practices

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, quality-driven setting

  • Experienced setter-operators will also be considered
