Location: Essex
Day Rate: 450 - 500 (Inside IR35)
Our client, a well-established organisation based in Essex, is seeking an experienced Interim Health & Safety Manager to lead on all health and safety matters across the business. This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with legislation, promoting best practice, and embedding a strong safety culture.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide expert advice and proactive solutions to ensure health & safety compliance across the organisation.

  • Develop, maintain, and manage arrangements for identifying, documenting, and controlling health & safety risks.

  • Act as the appointed responsible person for health & safety purposes.

  • Promote and support a positive health & safety culture throughout the organisation.

  • Ensure statutory, legal, and regulatory health & safety responsibilities are met for staff, contractors, customers, and visitors.

  • Identify and monitor potential emergency risks, recommending or implementing mitigation actions.

  • Oversee operational delivery to ensure full compliance with health & safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

  • Stay up to date with evolving legislation, regulations, and codes of practice, ensuring managers and employees are informed of any changes.

  • Engage and manage external health & safety consultants where necessary.


Candidate Profile:


  • Proven experience in a senior health & safety management role within a complex organisation.

  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, compliance frameworks, and best practice.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to promote a positive safety culture.

  • Ability to identify risks and provide practical, solutions-focused advice.

  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualification required.
