We are currently seeking an outstanding Head of Food and Nutrition to join a leading independent through school in Essex from January or April 2026, to cover a maternity leave initially until April 2027.

The school are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to lead their well-resourced Food and Nutrition department. The successful candidate will oversee curriculum delivery, inspire pupils across all key stages, and maintain the excellent standards of teaching and learning within the subject area.

Pupils study Food and Nutrition as a discrete subject at Key Stage 3, progressing to GCSE and Sixth Form qualifications. The department is well equipped with modern facilities designed to support practical and theoretical study, fostering innovation, sustainability, and a strong understanding of nutrition and healthy living.

The successful Head of Food and Nutrition will also be expected to play a full role in the wider life of the school, including supporting pupils outside the classroom and contributing to the co-curricular programme.
