A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to join a dynamic and fast-paced division on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. Based in Chelmsford, this role offers the chance to contribute significantly to the financial performance and leadership of the business.Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Finance Director in ensuring the finance team is well-resourced, supported, and effectively managed.
  • Provide departmental leadership in the Finance Director’s absence to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Assist with monthly forecasting and contribute to the preparation of the three- and five-year divisional business plans.
  • Attend and contribute to surveying/valuation meetings, offering financial insight and challenge where appropriate.
  • Support accurate and timely financial reporting and general financial management duties.
  • Assist with payment and payroll processing, ensuring compliance with internal systems and timelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Professionally qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Demonstrable experience in financial management, ideally within a construction or property-related environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide and support a finance team.
  • High-level analytical thinking and sound problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with financial systems and Microsoft Office applications.
