We are working with a Medium sized freight forwarder, who are looking to recruit a Export Shipping Administrator.

The role is reporting to the US Import Manager and working closely with overseas and UK Team.

The Shipping administrator is responsible for liaising between internal colleagues, customers, overseas suppliers and transport companies to ensure al efficient operational service.

Role Involves:

  • Contact with overseas shippers to arrange collection of freight.
  • Load and create job files in operational system.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key customers to develop more business opportunities.
  • Check, reference and finalise shipping documents in existing files.
  • Ensure customers and internal colleagues are fully informed of the progress of their shipments.
  • Communicate effectively with internal colleagues and overseas offices.
  • Transfer electronic bookings (EDI) messages into relevant file format.
  • Raise Shipping documentation.

Experience needed

  • 2 years Ocean Export experience
  • Would consider Ocean Import who would be happy to learn Exports
  • Good customer service and IT skills.

Hours Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with flexibility to so once or twice a week 12pm-8pm to deal with the US,
