As part of an exciting growth, One to One are proud to partner with a well-established and expanding logistics organisation looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager. This newly created position will play a key role in leading all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across the business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable and proactive professional who enjoys a hands-on environment, can work independently, and is eager to take ownership of the role and drive it forward. To be considered for this role you must have a NEBOSH qualification and 3-5 years experience within a H&S or SHEQ.
Various shifts Monday-Saturday 40 hours per week
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor workplace health and safety risks, advising staff on how to minimise or eliminate hazards
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all H&S documentation in line with current legislation
- Maintain full legal compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Provide H&S guidance and support during new build developments and as the business continues to expand
- Adhere to all Health & Safety directives issued by Senior Management
- Review and recommend improvements to administrative processes in collaboration with relevant managers
- Respond promptly to customer requests and escalate any issues or delays to management as required
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and support ongoing environmental initiatives
- Take ownership of personal development by actively expanding H&S knowledge and skills
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance across all company sites
- Lead internal Health & Safety meetings and chair the H&S committee
- Conduct H&S inductions for new employees and visitors
- Collaborate regularly with HR, Transport, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to maintain consistent H&S standards
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience within a warehouse environment is essential
- NEBOSH qualification essential
- 3-5 years experience in a H&S or SHEQ management role
- Fire and First aid certification desirable
- Proven ability to create and implement H&S policies and procedures and lead environmental direction
- Background in transport and logistics is highly advantageous
- Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments
- Conduct regular site inspections and investigations
- Ensure compliance with all legislative reporting requirements, including RIDDOR
