Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet service objectives.

  • Participate in performance reviews and identify development needs.

  • Promote equal opportunities and prevent discrimination.

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

  • Understand and support the council's crime prevention commitments.

  • Prepare and manage legal cases related to social care.

  • Handle cases referred by senior legal staff, including court appearances and instructing counsel.

  • Advise on various legal matters, both contentious and non-contentious.

  • Assist in supervising and instructing other legal staff.

  • Keep senior staff informed on case progress and assist with monitoring work.

  • Act professionally and uphold standards for legal professionals.

  • Ensure compliance with the council's Equal Opportunities Policy.

  • Perform other related activities as agreed by senior management.

Person Specifications
Must Have:

  • Experience in handling legal cases related to social care.

  • Knowledge of equal opportunities and anti-discrimination policies.

  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

  • Ability to collaborate and meet service objectives.

  • Professional conduct and adherence to legal standards.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in supervising legal staff.

  • Familiarity with crime prevention strategies.

  • Experience in both contentious and non-contentious legal matters.
