Our client, a leading name in Construction products distribution, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Warehouse Manager to lead operations at their busy Essex-based site.

This is an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of warehouse leadership, working in a dynamic environment that operates its own transport network and prioritises operational excellence, compliance, and people development.________________________________________The RoleYou will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the warehouse team, ensuring productivity, safety, and efficiency across all functions. This includes stock control, dispatch, compliance adherence, and team performance—while also identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practices in warehousing.________________________________________Key Responsibilities• Lead and manage the warehouse team to meet daily targets and service KPIs.• Oversee stock movement, goods-in/goods-out, and distribution planning in coordination with the transport department.• Ensure Health & Safety compliance and champion ISO 14001 environmental standards.• Conduct performance reviews, appraisals, and regular training for staff development.• Identify and implement improvements across workflow, layout, and WMS utilisation.• Monitor and enhance team performance through leadership, accountability, and support.• Ensure accurate data entry and stock traceability using the warehouse management system (WMS).• Act as a key figure in compliance, audits, and policy implementation.________________________________________About You• Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager within a distribution or logistics setting.• Forklift licence preferred (or willingness to obtain).• Strong working knowledge of WMS systems and stock control procedures.• Experience working in a business that manages its own transport or delivery network.• A natural leader with a proactive approach to team development and motivation.• Confident in delivering appraisals, training plans, and performance management.• Up-to-date understanding of Health & Safety legislation, compliance, and ISO 14001 environmental processes.• Forward-thinking, process-driven, and able to bring fresh ideas to a growing business.________________________________________What’s on Offer• A full-time permanent position with working hours of 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday• The opportunity to join a successful, growing business with a strong focus on quality and service• A key leadership role where your ideas and contributions will be recognised________________________________________Interested in leading a warehouse team in a fast-paced, forward-moving business?Apply today to find out more about this exciting opportunity with our client.
