Deen Consult Services Ltd is supporting a local authority client in recruiting a professional Payroll Officer. You will deliver high-quality, customer-focused payroll and HR transactional services, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while contributing to service improvements.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately process payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with HMRC absence regulations, tax, National Insurance, and pension contributions.

Compile contracts of employment and resolve payroll queries efficiently.

Perform user acceptance testing to support payroll system improvements.

Maintain accurate data input and reporting, ensuring compliance with all legal and internal standards.

Provide clear, effective support to employees using self-service tools.
What We’re Looking For:

Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax, NI, pensions, and statutory absence rules.

Experience compiling contracts of employment and handling high-volume payroll transactions.

Proficiency with payroll systems in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Evidence of continuing professional development; CIPP qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
