Deen Consult Services Ltd is supporting a local authority client in recruiting a professional Payroll Officer. You will deliver high-quality, customer-focused payroll and HR transactional services, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while contributing to service improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with HMRC absence regulations, tax, National Insurance, and pension contributions.

  • Compile contracts of employment and resolve payroll queries efficiently.

  • Perform user acceptance testing to support payroll system improvements.

  • Maintain accurate data input and reporting, ensuring compliance with all legal and internal standards.

  • Provide clear, effective support to employees using self-service tools.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax, NI, pensions, and statutory absence rules.

  • Experience compiling contracts of employment and handling high-volume payroll transactions.

  • Proficiency with payroll systems in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Evidence of continuing professional development; CIPP qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
