Quantity Surveyor for leading Social housing and refurbishments contractor
About the role of Quantity Surveyor
Your role as Quantity Surveyor will be to work on social housing and maintenance projects across Education, Residential and public buildings such as libraries and fire stations. Responsible for managing subcontract orders including scaffolding, lightning protection, roofing, windows, wet trade repairs, painting, M&E, internal modifications, demolition, partitions, blinds, door entry, fire alarms, fire doors and the like, small extensions and various forms of flooring, cleaning or any other trade required for the particular project
You will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Procuring subcontract packages
- Managing payments to subcontractors
- Measuring works
You will be based from an office in Essex with site visits across London.
Requirements:
The company are looking for a candidate with experience working on social housing and refurbishment works, with knowledge of JCT Contract, however this is not essential and experience with a similar main contractor managing projects from procurement to final accounting. The ideal candidate is someone who is a highly motivated and keen to join a business with excellent training and progression on offer and someone who wants to build a career in surveying.
- Degree in a construction related subject
- Ideally experience with another main contractor managing subcontractor orders
- Experience within another social housing or refurbishment contractor
- Willing to travel to sites in London and work in Essex
