1:1 Learning Support Assistant - SEN College - Chelmsford
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a student at a specialist SEN college located in Chelmsford.
Location: Chelmsford
Hours: Full-time (term-time only)
Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
This particular student has an interest in drawing, walking, going to the park & attending the library
About the Role:
You will be supporting a student with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop independence. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a young person and be part of a supportive and inclusive college environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 support during lessons and activities
Assist with communication, mobility, and emotional regulation
This particular student will require some personal care
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists
Promote a positive and safe learning environment
Requirements:
Previous experience working with individuals with SEN (preferred but not essential)
Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
Ability to build trusting relationships
Must be a driver with access to a vehicle
