The company has built a stellar reputation within the energy sector over the past five years and is looking to hire trainee meter technicians to join their growing team in Chelmsford and Southend.
You'll receive full training before heading out to meter locations across the region. Your duties will include planning your route, taking meter readings, and reporting any issues, all while providing excellent service to customers. The role has a strong focus on electrical work, with the chance to train as a HV metering installer or EV specialist. The 12-month training program through this company's Engineering Academy offers ample progression into various roles.
You'll be traveling to customer sites throughout Chelmsford, Southend, and nearby areas, with a company van provided - including EV and automatic models. Once trained, you'll have the flexibility to work remotely, though regular site visits will still be part of the role.
The ideal candidate will be open, honest, and career-driven, with a strong desire to progress. Previous experience in a field-based or driving role, such as delivery drivers from Sainsbury's, Tesco, or meter readers, is a plus, but the right attitude is most important. The role requires a full, clean driving license and the ability to manage your own schedule.
The Role:
* Full training provided to become a Meter Data Technician (MDT) with progression opportunities.* Travel across the Chelmsford, Southend, and surrounding areas.* Opportunity to work with EV vans, including automatic and multi-EV models.* Clear career progression with the chance to move into electrical, HV metering, or EV specialist roles.
