Job Description:
Our client is offering a 12-week summer internship opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented student to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic finance environment. Working within the Finance department, you will support a range of key activities related to financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls.
You will be exposed to real-world finance operations while supporting the following tasks:
* PAYE Settlement Agreement Analysis:
Assist in preparing data for submission to HMRC by October 2025. This includes analysing Reward & Recognition, Long Service Awards, and staff entertaining costs.
* Tax Return Data Compilation:
Analyse profit and loss accounts to support the preparation of the 2025 Corporate Tax Return. Work may involve liaising with operational managers to determine the nature of maintenance spend (capital vs. revenue).
* Financial Reporting Support:
Help prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliation file and manual journal file. This will provide you with valuable insight into the company's P&L and Balance Sheet structure, as well as the significance of financial internal controls.
* Ad Hoc Projects and Analysis:
Participate in various financial exercises and projects as required throughout the internship.
Required Skills & Attributes:
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Clear and effective communication skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Experience:
* Familiarity with SAP (advantageous but not essential)
* Prior experience or academic background in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
