R&D Lead Scientist - Materials 
  • Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday 
  • Salary: £44,000 - £61,000 DOE

Join a global leader in advanced materials manufacturing as a Research and Development Lead. This role is perfect for someone with a strong scientific background who is passionate about developing new products and processes that contribute to cleaner, more sustainable technologies.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead product and process development projects from concept to commercialisation.
  • Collaborate with customers and commercial teams to develop tailored solutions.
  • Plan and execute laboratory and pilot-scale trials using scientific and mathematical methods.
  • Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, procurement, and technical teams.
  • Benchmark competitor technologies and contribute to patentable innovations.
  • Supervise and mentor laboratory technicians.
  • Present technical findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MSc with 3+ years in product development.
  • Experience with material testing methods and performance evaluation.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
