Flood Risk Engineer
Looking for a role where your technical expertise directly influences safer, more sustainable places?
As a Flood Risk Engineer, you will be working on varied and meaningful projects, helping to manage flood risk and drainage challenges while developing your career within a supportive consultancy environment.

You will be joining a well-established and growing engineering and environmental consultancy known for delivering practical, proportionate flood risk and drainage solutions for development and infrastructure projects across the UK. The culture is collaborative and people-focused, with flexibility, technical quality and professional development at its core.

In this Flood Risk Engineer role, you will be doing work that makes a real difference, including:
路Preparing Flood Risk Assessments for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments
路Producing drainage strategies and surface water management plans in line with current guidance and standards
路Undertaking hydraulic and hydrological assessments using industry-standard software
路Liaising with local authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities, the Environment Agency and other stakeholders
路Supporting planning applications through technical input and responses to consultee comments
路Working collaboratively with planners, engineers and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions

To succeed as a Flood Risk Engineer, you will bring:
路Experience in flood risk and drainage within a consultancy or local authority environment
路A strong understanding of UK flood risk policy, planning guidance and SuDS principles
路Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
路The ability to communicate technical information clearly in written reports
路A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience
路Progress towards, or interest in working towards, professional accreditation (desirable)
