Class People are excited to be supporting a growing After School Club based in Cheltenham, who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic After School Club Manager. This role is key to the planning, organisation, and delivery of a safe, engaging, and active club provision for children in Years 2 to 6.

You will work closely with a Younger Years Lead, who will manage the Reception and Year 1 children in a separate area within the school grounds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children, creating enriching activities, and running an efficient and welcoming club environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Activity Planning & Delivery:

  • Plan and deliver a range of activities suitable for children aged 6-11 years (Years 2-6).

  • Ensure sessions are inclusive, engaging, and promote teamwork and physical activity.

  • Prepare and maintain safe, organised activity areas.

  • Lead and supervise children during activities, creating a positive environment.

  • Adapt activities in response to children's interests and feedback.

Child Supervision & Welfare:

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment, following safeguarding policies.

  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and maintain accurate incident records.

  • Maintain attendance records and ensure safe handover procedures.

  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and school staff.

Administration & Organisation:

  • Manage the daily operations of the club including bookings, registrations, and parent communications.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection policies.

  • Handle parent queries professionally and manage waiting lists and booking systems.

  • Create, update, and maintain club documentation, policies, and risk assessments.

Teamwork & Communication:

  • Work closely with the wider staff team to deliver a high-quality provision.

  • Attend training and team meetings as required.

  • Provide feedback for continual club improvement.

Person Specification:
  • Experience working with children aged 6-11 years.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to plan and deliver exciting and active sessions.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and basic first aid (or willingness to obtain qualifications).

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Desirable:

  • Relevant childcare or sports coaching qualifications.

  • First Aid and Safeguarding certifications (or willingness to attain).

  • Experience in a similar After School Club management role.

  • Early Years experience and qualifications.

Working Hours:
  • On-site: Monday to Friday, 3pm-6pm (15 hours per week)

  • Plus: Additional 2 hours per week for administration tasks (working from home)

  • Term Time Only
