About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Electronic Design Engineer to lead initiatives focused on part cost reduction and product affordability. This role is pivotal in ensuring our products remain competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with future business needs.

You will work at the heart of a cross-functional engineering team, using your expertise to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product performance or compliance. From strategy development to implementation, you will ensure cost-reduction measures are practical, efficient, and deliver measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Reduction Strategy: Analyse existing designs and manufacturing processes to identify and execute cost-optimisation opportunities.

Technical Impact Assessment: Evaluate proposed changes for their effect on product performance, reliability, and compliance.

Design Change Implementation: Oversee prototype development, testing, and documentation for seamless integration of changes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing teams to deliver initiatives effectively.

Customer Engagement: Communicate proposed solutions clearly to customers and address technical or commercial concerns.

Continuous Improvement: Apply lean principles and problem-solving methodologies for ongoing cost and performance optimisation.

Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure all modifications meet safety, quality, and industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

Proven background in electronics design, manufacturing, or cost optimisation.

Aerospace, automotive, or high-tech manufacturing industry experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of electronic components, systems, and manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with design-for-cost principles, value engineering, and lean methodologies.

Proficiency in CAD tools, simulation software, and engineering design platforms.

Excellent communication skills for engaging internal teams and external stakeholders.

Analytical and creative approach to problem-solving.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
