Operations Manager

Cheltenham – Permanent – Full-time – Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:30, Fri 08:00-13:00 – From £40,000 DOE

A specialist engineering services provider based in Cheltenham, delivering high-precision treatments to demanding industries, is looking for an ambitious Operations Manager to lead the production team, drive growth with new and existing customers, and take an active role in shaping the future of the business.

The Role:

-           Day-to-day management of production activities, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met

-           Leading a team, bringing motivation, structure and support to get the best out of people

-           Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, including occasional on-site visits to client facilities

-           Driving business development efforts – identify new opportunities, develop sales strategies, and grow revenue

-           Playing an active part in both operational oversight and hands-on support when needed on the shop floor

-            Supporting strategic business direction with potential to step into wider responsibilities across additional sites

-           Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and team development

The Person:

-           High-energy leader with a strong personality and a proactive, can-do approach

-           Looking to progress into senior leadership – with the ambition to run a business in the future

-           Background in engineering or manufacturing – hands-on machine experience is desirable

-           Confident communicator who can engage both internal teams and external customers

-           Willingness to learn the business inside-out before challenging and improving established processes

-           Experience with precision treatments such as peening – advantageous

-           Previous experience in sales or team management – desirable

-           Enjoys mentoring and helping others develop professionally
