Music Marketing & Editorial Assistant | Hybrid – Cheltenham Office (Gloucestershire) 3 days per week, 2 days remote working | Full Time | £12.21 per hour, with potential for performance-based pay increases

Our client is a leading digital distributor, empowering record labels and artists with comprehensive distribution services, strong partnerships, and innovative solutions. Specialising in music distribution to DSPs globally, they offer marketing opportunities, strategic planning, representation, and expert advice. Additionally, our client is a technology leader, providing bespoke label management software and advanced PRO accounting tools.

They're currently looking for a Marketing & Editorial Assistant to join the team and support the preparation and delivery of editor-facing pitches across DSPs. This is an entry-level, hybrid role based out of our Cheltenham office, offering hands-on experience in digital music promotion and editor-facing strategy.

If you have a flair for artwork, creative writing, social media content, and content creation using a program like Canva, this is a bonus for us.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • No previous experience is required
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Strong written communication and ability to summarise information clearly
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail)
  • Interest in streaming platforms, digital music strategy, and editorial processes
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute
  • Fun, likeable and a team player

What will your role look like?

  • Pitch Writing Support: Assist with writing and refining clear, tailored pitch copy for editorial teams at Spotify, Apple, YouTube, etc
  • Marketing Drivers: Research and refine high-level artist milestones (e.g., press, socials, touring, radio) into concise summaries tailored for editorial pitching
  • Release Curation: Support the identification and selection of weekly priority releases based on artist potential, campaign assets, and genre fit
  • Asset Coordination: Gather and check metadata, URIs, Apple IDs, bios, and press materials, ensuring all assets are formatted correctly according to DSP guidelines
  • Platform Research: Help research and monitor editorial playlists, platform trends, and recent features to inform future pitching strategies
  • Form Submission: Complete and manage editorial pitching forms for a variety of DSPs
  • Editorial Liaison Support: Help maintain and organise communications with DSP curation teams. This will include video calls with staff at Beatport, Spotify, Apple Music and more
  • Campaign Documentation: Assist in tracking editorial features and playlist support, compiling that information into communications for labels and artists.
  • Internal Workflow Support: Help maintain internal tools, trackers, and pitch sheets to ensure information is up to date and accessible for the wider team
  • Artist & Label Communication Assistance: Support the gathering of information and materials from clients to complete pitches, ensuring deadlines and editorial requirements are met
